Giving to the Center
Message from the Board Chair| |
Under perfect conditions for creative thought, scholars have made discoveries at the Center that have changed our lives. Whether the result of planned work or serendipity, the path-finding research and writing produced at the Center has contributed mightily for a half century to a better understanding of the way people think, the way they make decisions, the way we shape our attitudes and beliefs, how systems of justice are formed, and the way cultural differences determine our points-of-view.
Whether it is the origins of public opinion surveys, political polling, of theories of inequality of wealth and position, of the rational and irrational in our thought, or the understanding of race, gender, and other relationships, many of the breakthroughs have occurred over lunch and in the studies of the Center. We often think of discoveries as coming only from scientists or engineers, but discoveries that have transformed our way of thinking and living have come almost as often from behavioral scientists. And many of the greatest and most enduring of these have been born and nurtured at the Center.
This is a place that needs to be supported for the good of society.
If you share our commitment to addressing modern challenges, please make the Center a priority. One “year of thinking differently” is a priceless gift to offer to those seeking answers to the questions our world needs now. On behalf of the Board of Directors and all at the Center, thank you for considering a contribution to this important institution.
