Donating Personal Property or Real Estate
You may wish to donate tangible personal
property such as artwork, jewelry, or valuable collections to CASBS. We
also welcome gifts of real property such as vacation homes,
vacant lots, or farms as long as this real estate is debt-free and
readily marketable. Such assets are appropriate for outright gifts as
well as for funding charitable trusts.
Please
contact
our development office to discuss gifts of tangible property and
real estate before making transfer arrangements. These gifts must be
reviewed before acceptance, and there are tax implications to discuss
that may be of value to the donor. Gifts of property should be
accompanied by a professional letter of appraisal and by a letter from
the donor stating that CASBS has the right to sell the gift at any
time in the future. For more information, or for assistance in
arranging your gift, please
contact
us.
